Study Skills

Study skills is not about subject knowledge, though you may well benefit from the incredible subject knowledge our tutors have. Study skills is about understanding the difference between being taught and being an independent learner. At your first meeting, you will work with your study skills tutor to identify your academic strengths and areas for focus.

If you are on an apprenticeship, in the workplace or looking for a new job, we can give you the skills to be an independent and valued member of the team.  You can gain skills to work on reports, bids, pricing plans and any number of useful tasks for your employer and to increase your chances of a more fulfilled work life.

If you are doing a degree, we can use your university assignments as a vehicle to increase your skills. We can address time management, academic reading skills, analysing assignment briefs, essay and report structuring, sourcing material and much more.

If you are thinking about retiring, study and research skills can help you write that book you’ve always had inside you, find out about your family tree or take up that new pastime you’ve been waiting to embrace.
